A collaborative initiative by Pfizer and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) to support IP protection and commercialization of promising healthcare innovations from India.
Program Support
• Grant of up to ₹1.5 lakh per innovator for IP management (valid for 2 years)
• Covers national (India) and PCT (international) IP filing and related expenses
• IP ownership remains with the applicant (startup/innovator/company)
• Commercialization support on request
• Support limited to 10 healthcare innovations (IP filing support only)

Who Can Apply
Startups, innovators, or companies in the healthcare domain with Proof of Concept (TRL 4–6) ready for IP protection and/or business planning.
Eligibility Criteria
• Company registered under Companies Act, 1956/2013 (individual innovators may also apply)
• Incorporation date not earlier than 3 years from the PIIP call launch date
• Minimum 51% ownership by resident Indian citizens and/or Indian companies
• Female-owned startups will be given preference
• Startup India (DPIIT) recognized startups eligible for special IP filing rates
• Applicants must not have received prior Government/agency support for the same concept
• Only one technology per applicant
• Previous applicants may reapply if all eligibility criteria are met
Not Eligible
• Startups/companies owned by universities or research institutes
• Applicants already associated with patent attorneys or patent agents
• Applicants intending to file IP in the name of a university or research institute
